Hi – this is what’s going on with me now. Updated June 22, 2020
Social distancing and remote work is still in effect. Meanwhile, business intelligence development goes on with projects using Oracle OBIEE and IBM Cognos. Also providing training courses for OBIEE, Cognos, and TOAD to multiple clients so the summer has continued to be busy. My sincere gratitude to all who entrust me to enhance business intelligence for your operations.
Though we are fortunate to keep our business going through this pandemic, there are many who are struggling. We encourage you to support local businesses and folks in your community. Please consider donating to your local food bank https://www.feedingamerica.org/.
At home, we are making the best out of the situation. Our small garden is flourishing, the Midwestern summer evenings have been good for grilling out, and we enjoy watching the fireflies and bats under the stars. The kids are on summer break and there are reading lists and activities going on most days. Our local pool is restricted so they have been swinging like Tarzan on a rope from a tree through the sprinkler to stay cool. Our family entertainment has been watching The Durrells in Corfu and Star Trek Next Generation.
Lifelong learning is a passion of mine and I believe in pursuing experiences and skills. I’ve been putting a lot of effort into guitar training these past couple of years and I’m getting through the inflection point and breaking through plateaus. It’s been fun and exciting experience.
Last year, we trained and received our SCUBA certification. Our plans were to introduce it to the kids this year with a trip to the Virgin Islands. Those plans have been put off for now but look forward to picking it up again.
Currently reading, How Music Works by David Byrne and The (Mis)Behavior or Markets by Benoit Mandlebrot & Richard Hudson.
That’s all for now.
